Katherine Wildermuth

I live, paint and work the land in Walla Walla. After teaching art to seventh- and eighth-graders for a very long time, I began to paint using watercolor as principal medium. Teaching young people, however, required some proficiency in many different media and styles as well as management skills. As a result I feel I can “make” just about anything. I love pattern and intense color; I love nature and the shapes and forms it provides, from plants and fruit to insects and birds.

I begin a painting with an incomplete drawing, then paint, then draw a little more, so that the idea is always changing. That technique keeps me interested and on my toes. More of my paintings can be seen at Brasserie Four through May 2022.
